Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot: How to Defeat Burter & Jeice

Right from the get-go, it was made clear that the Ginyu Force isn’t like the other henchmen you have to take down in the Frieza Saga in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. They are considerably more powerful, and the fact that you will have to take some of them on one after the other further complicates things, especially if you were not prepared for multiple battles one after the other and do not have enough healing items on you.

How to Defeat Burter & Jeice in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot

You will fight Burter and Jeice together with Goku during the Frieza Saga. This battle takes place right after Recoome has been defeated, so you get no time to heal outside of battle, eat food, or purchase items.

The one thing that makes this boss battle complicated is the fact that you may have been damaged a lot during the Recoome fight, and you may not have enough healing items on you. Even with enough items, however, this battle can be challenging, as both Barter and Jeice like to gang up on you, leaving very little room for you to avoid their attacks.

As the fight will be over once you defeat Burter, it’s best to focus on him right from the start of the battle. He doesn’t have any notable special attacks, and he will attack you with some generic melee attacks that can be either dodged or blocked. Blocking is preferred here, as you will also have to avoid Jeice long-range attacks, and they may catch you if you mistime your dodges.

Getting Jeice to stop attacking you isn’t easy, as he always goes for long-range attacks that cover tons of ground. You can use Vanish Attacks every now and then to stop him and get some heat off you, but he will soon get back on the offensive, so make sure to block often and take down Burter as quickly as possible. Using Kaioken increases the damage done at the cost of HP, so use it only when you’re at full health, or close to it.
