Elden Ring Best Mage Build and Guide

The Magic in Elden Ring is amazing and very powerful if you have the right build. When choosing the right build, you need to pay attention to everything, to all the little things, so that you can become the most powerful sorcerer in the Interlands.

A good mage requires sufficient Intelligence, Arcane, and Reason stats. Staffs and powerful magic will also come in handy. You need to level up to get stats, but to get more powerful enchantments and staves, you’ll need to find magic teachers, parchments, and merchants.

  • Best Build: Mage Astrologer
  • Class: Astrologer
  • Flask Spread: Basically stacks in FP with a couple of potions.
  • Weapon: Staff of the Demihuman Queen.
  • Shield: Wooden Shield of Scripture (Basic)
  • Chestplate: Armor of the Astrologer
  • Key Attributes: Intelligence, Reason
  • Secondary stats: Arcane, dexterity.
  • Skills: Golden Seed, Ashes of War
  • Spells: Brilliantstone Arc, Brilliantstone Pebble

This class is all about magic.

The most important item is the Astrologer’s Staff, as well as spells. You start with a Glintstone Pebble and a Glintstone Arc. You will hardly ever use Glintstone Arc. But Glintstone Pebble is something you will use all the time. You will constantly throw rocks at enemies. It has a very low FP cost, but it deals a lot of damage and you will use it throughout the game until you have enough FP for a Large Shiny Stone Shard.

It’s always best to stay away from the target, basically just spamming Glintstones until you get better spells. Summon Spirit is needed to remove aggro from you so you can keep casting spells, especially in fights when there are a lot of enemies around.
