First Hisui Pokemon Trading Cards Have Been Revealed

The Pokemon Trading Card Game has been around since the mid 1990s and its popularity has been pretty consistent, aided by the continued release of new games and Pokemon. New card types are always being released, with the latest coinciding with the Pokemon 25th Anniversary celebrations which included reprints and exclusive musician cards. Now with the release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, there are yet more cards to add to your deck. Pokemon from the Hisui Region will now be honored with their own Pokemon Trading Card.

Hisui Region Pokemon Cards

The first lot of Hisui Region Pokemon in the Trading Card Game have been revealed to be the Battle Legion Set. These are part of the Pokemon Sword and Shield series, which also includes Pokemon from the Sinnoh Region, such as Vespiquen and Garchomp.

The Hisuian Pokemon included in this set are Kleavor (the evolved form of Scyther) and Wyrdeer (evolved from Stantler), depicted on the card alongside a trainer. Kleavor’s card artwork shows Lian from the Pearl clan, while Wyrdeer is accompanied by Mai of the Diamond clan.

These pairings are not accidental, as both characters are wardens tasked with caring for Pokemon. Mai cares for the Wyrdeer living in the Obsidian Fieldlands, and Lian watches over the Kleavor, feeding and caring for the noble creatures. This makes the artwork of each of these new cards quite special.

Check out the tweet from Serebii.net above to see the new releases. The new cards are being released in Japan in February 2022, while the rest of the globe will have to wait to know their release date. As soon as we know when we will all have the chance to collect these new cards, we will let you know!
