Fortnite’s Winterfest Event is coming close to an end, and Epic Games have deployed the 19.01 hotfix update before it concludes. Since it’s a hotfix, Fortnite players don’t need to download any files.
In the latest version, developers have introduced a new item called Shield Keg and IO Drills to the Fortnite Chapter 3 map. Although there isn’t a lot of new content, players can finally lay their hands on Shield Keg that was initially leaked by several Fortnite data miners.
So without any further ado, let’s look at what Shield Keg has to offer in the Fortnite battle royale.
Shield Keg arrives in Fortnite 19.01
Starting from v19.01, Fortnite players can acquire the new Shield Keg from the floor, chests and supply drops. One can also purchase it from Lt. John Llama, located at the house south of Logjam Lumberyard, for 250 gold bars. However, Shield Kreg is only available in Fortnite Standard mode, and it will not spawn in competitive mode.
Once players have Shield Kreg in their inventory, they can throw it on grounds to restore their whole squad’s shields. To be more precise, it heals 150 shield hitpoints in 30 seconds (2 per half a second). But be careful where you throw one down, as it can also restore enemies’ Shields.
Thus, bring a Shield Keg to the Fortnite party, and your squad will always have a great time. Toss down the Shield Keg and enjoy a fountain of shield restoration.
