Gotta catch’em all isn’t just the catchphrase of the Pokemon series, it is a way of life. Defeating all opponents that bar your way in all entries in the series, taking down the Elite Four and becoming the region’s top Pokemon trainer should never be enough, as you should always strive to catch all of the Pokemon available in any given entry in the series if you are a true fan.

At the start of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you are only able to catch 150 Pokemon that are part of the Pokedex. Accomplishing a certain tasks, however will allow you to use the National Dex and catch even more Pokemon.

The National Pokedex for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl includes all of the 493 Pokemon you can find in the two games.

To unlock the National Pokedex, you will need to defeat the Elite Four and complete 150 Pokedex entries. You do not need to catch all of these Pokemon, as fighting them will be more than enough to register their entry in the Pokedex.
