A Particularly Particular Author is one of the two world quests under the Through the Mist questline. The quest sheds light on the lost civilization of Tsurumi Island, while also sharing lore on the Thunderbird and the rituals that the island residents used to perform to please the bird.

Through the Mist world quest was added to Genshin Impact with the version 2.2 update. It is one of the mandatory world quests that players must complete to get access to Tsurumi Island.

To get the Particularly Particular Author world quest, players must first complete the Seirai Stormchasers world quest.

Once that is done, you automatically trigger Through the Mist—A Particularly Particular Author world quest.

Here is a step-by-step guide on A Particularly Particular Author world quest. 

Talk to Sumida

At the beginning of the quest, players have to go to Inazuma Katheryne and then talk to an NPC called Sumida.

Talk to Kama

Travel to Tsurumi Island

When you arrive at Tsurumi Island, you have to pass through a gate to complete the “Travel to Tsurumi Island objective.”

Talk to the mysterious young boy

Go to the destination and talk to Ruu

Touch the perch

Make an offering to the perch

Report back to Ruu

Go to the ceremonial site

When you arrive at the ceremonial site, you have to look for the Priest. Go straight to the end of the ceremonial site and you will find an NPC called Mata, who is the head priest. Talk to him.

Find your way through the mist and make an offering at the perches (0/3)

In this part of the quest, players have to find perches at Chirai Shrine, Shirikoro Peak, and Autake Plains and make an offering. This is the most troublesome part of the quest and is full of puzzles. Return to the ceremonial site

After returning to the ceremonial site, you find all the residents are gone; in Mata’s location, there is a shining light. Upon investigation, you obtain the Maushiro. Now it’s time to head back to Sumida.

Report back to Sumida
