In the wake of issues related to Genshin Impact’s Geo Element users, especially Zhongli, the developers have announced a new set of adjustments coming to the five-star Geo user Zhongli and the entirety of Geo element.
At first, these new changes will be included with the Genshin Impact version 1.3 beta version, later on, if the new changes suit well with the game’s current power level and other aspects – then a finalized version of the changes will be released alongside Genshin Impact version 1.3 update.

Even at the advent of the Genshin Impact 1.2 update, the developers – miHoYo are paying attention to players’ feedback on existing content, especially feedback that are regarding playable characters.
A few months ago, as per the community’s feedback and report – the developers made changes, as well as fixed, Mona and Keqings Elemental Burst attack issues. And, it worked out pretty well.
New Adjustments coming to Zhongli
The new adjustments coming to Zhongli are divided into two main parts, the first being – Adjustments to Passive Talent “Dominance of Earth” and the second being – Adjustment to Dominus Lapidis’ Holding Mode.

Disclaimer – The adjustments values are indicative of the official post from miHoYo, nothing is changed or altered from our end. Secondly, the adjustments mentioned below are applicable for Genshin Impact 1.3 beta version – which will go live in a few days. Things may change in the final version, and as per that, we will be updating this article.
Adjustments to Passive Talent – Dominance of Earth
Two additional effects have been added to Zhongli’s passive ability Dominance of Earth. These new changes, as a whole make Zhongli powerful raw DPS character. With that being said, here are the changes –
Original Effect:
Increases Planet Befall’s DMG by an amount equal to 33% of Zhongli’s Max HP.
Post-Adjustment Effect:
The DMG dealt by the following of Zhongli’s attacks will be increased based on his Max HP:
- Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG will be increased by 1.39% of Max HP.
- The Stone Stele, Resonance, and Holding Mode DMG of Dominus Lapidis will be increased by 1.9% of Max HP.
- Planet Befall’s DMG will be increased by 33% of Zhongli’s Max HP.
Adjustment to Dominus Lapidis’ Holding Mode
The new changes to Zhongli’s Elemental Skill Dominus Lapidis holding mode are more of a quality of life change that was much needed. New adjustments like attack interruption resistance and adding 150% of Physical DMG absorption to the elemental skill is something that the community has been asking since the launch of Zhongli’s banner – Gentry of Hermitage.

Original Effect:
Causes nearby Geo energy to explode, causing the following effects:
• Creates a shield of jade. The shield’s DMG Absorption scales based on Zhongli’s Max HP and has 250% Geo DMG Absorption.
• Deals AoE Geo DMG.
• If there are nearby targets with the Geo element, it will drain a large amount of the Geo element from a maximum of 2 such targets. This effect does not cause DMG.
Post-Adjustment Effect:
Causes nearby Geo energy to explode, causing the following effects:
• If the maximum number of Stone Steles has not yet been reached, it will create a Stone Stele.
• Creates a shield of jade. The shield’s DMG Absorption scales based on Zhongli’s Max HP, and has 150% Physical DMG and Elemental DMG Absorption.
• Deals AoE Geo DMG.
• If there are nearby targets with the Geo element, it will drain a large amount of the Geo element from a maximum of 2 such targets. This effect does not cause DMG.
*This adjustment will also greatly increase the interruption resistance of Dominus Lapidis’ Holding Mode.
Genshin Impact Adjustments to Geo Elemental Mechanics
While Geo users in Genshin Impact hold a great defensive and offensive value in battle, not that many players use them. But, with new enticing changes, we recommend players to use Geo element users – as they serve an all-round value(defense, healer, DPS) to the team.

1. Adjustment to Geo Resonance “Enduring Rock”
Original Effect:
Increases resistance to interruption. When protected by a shield, increases Attack DMG by 15%.
Post-Adjustment Effect:
Increases shield strength by 15%. Additionally, characters protected by a shield will have the following special characteristics: DMG dealt increased by 15%, dealing DMG to enemies will decrease their Geo RES by 20% for 15s.

2. Geo Shield Balance Adjustments
Geo Shields are adjusted from “having 250% Geo DMG Absorption” to “having 150% Physical DMG and Elemental DMG Absorption“.
Affected effects include:
• The Geo Shield created by Zhongli’s Elemental Skill
• The Geo Shield created by Noelle’s Elemental Skill
• The Geo Shield created when picking up Geo Crystals dropped by Geovishap Hatchlings
