On February 14th, when couples were busy doing what they are good at and singles were coping up by playing Videogames, watching Anime, TV Series, or doing other things to pass the day, we had some big things happening in the videogame industry.
Genshin Impact developer miHoYo introduced an international rebrand called “HoYoverse” that aims to provide a myriad of virtual and immersive experiences to a global audience.
The announcement didn’t come as a surprise, at least to us, as the company has already been working on the AI, Lumi, to provide a desktop companion experience to global players. Other than that, during the Genshin Impact 2.5 Livestream, we also learned that we are getting a short anime episode summarizing the events of the Inazuma storyline.
There has always been a high demand for other forms of media for miHoYo’s games. Things like Anime, VR-related media, manga, and other similar things will not only expand miHoYo as a brand. But will also satisfy the content hunger of the global audience.
Here is what HoYoverse co-founder and CEO, Haoyu Cai, had to say about the brand:
“Our mission in establishing HoYoverse is to create a vast and content-driven virtual world that integrates games, anime, and other diverse types of entertainment, which will provide players with a high level of freedom and immersion,” said Haoyu Cai, co-founder and CEO of HoYoverse.
“We will continue to focus on long-term operation strategies, consistent technical research, and innovation in a variety of fields, including artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and pipeline construction, to ensure that sufficient content is created to meet the expectations of players worldwide for a virtual world experience.”
That’s it for now. We will share more details on HoYoverse if anything comes up.
