At the end of the Genshin Impact 1.5 Livestream, the players got something unexpected. We got the very first look at some of the locations from the upcoming region, Inazuma. That was great itself. However, the star of the show was the person making the reveal and explaining the different locations. We are talking about the Chibi character who looks similar to Yae Sakura from miHoYo’s previous gacha game, Honkai Impact The Third.

Who is Yae Sakura?

Yae Sakura is a playable character in miHoYo’s previous gacha game, Honkai Impact The Third. She used to be a shrine maiden of the Yae Village. But, due to the turn of events, Yae Sakura began hating the Yae Village.

Yae Sakura is more than 500 years old and she was born in Yae-gu, Shinano, Japan. As her last name suggests, Sakura is from the Yae family. Moreover, according to the game lore, the Yae Family has the potential to develop natural stigmata that allow them to communicate with spirits.

Similarities Between Yae Sakura and Yae Guuji and the Genshin Impact Universe

  • Yae Sakura’s Stigmata looks similar to the Inazuma region, Electro Archon emblem.
  • Both Shintze and Sakura share share the same surname, Yae.
  • They are both associated with a shrine. Guuji is a Japanese term that means Chief Priest. And, we already know Yae Sakura was the shrine maiden of Yae Village. While, Yae Shitnze(aka Yae Guuji) is the Chief Priestess of the Grand Narukami Shrine.
  • Yae Sakura is of Japanese origin, and Inazuma is Japanese-themed.
  • They are both voiced by Du Mingya in Chinese.
  • They have a very similar appearance, including long pink hair and purple eyes.

Is Yae Shintze/Guuji and Yae Sakura Same?

We do not have any official confirmation on whether Yae Shintze is Yae Sakura. There are so many similarities between the two characters that one can say that both are the same. However, at the same time, the lore and many other aspects make it highly unlikely that Yae Sakura is Yae Shintze.
