Genshin Impact is a free to play gacha-based role-playing game developed by miHoYo. Just like the previous title Honkai Impact The Third, Genshin Impact uses the gacha-system to unlock new playable characters and weapons. The gacha rolls are officially called “Wishes” in the game.
In Genshin Impact, Players can use a single wish or a group of 10 wishes at once. The later one guarantees a 4-star or higher weapon/character. So, if you are one of those players who doesn’t mind investing in microtransactions, then make sure you use 10-wishes at once to get decent loot.
How to unlock good playable characters for free in Genshin Impact?
At a glance, Genshin Impact may look like a pay to win videogame. But, it is not pay-to-win. The game offers many different ways to unlock some of the best characters for free. Plus, there are a decent variety of in-game currencies(ex- primogems) that players can use for wishes.
There are 3-starter characters in Genshin Impact namely, Amber, Kaeya and Lisa that players can unlock by completing Archon quests (story quests).
Players can unlock Amber by completing the prologue mission. To get Lisa, you have to complete the “Sparks Amongst the Pages” quest. And for Kaeya you must complete “Deep Within the temple of the Wolf” domain. Unlocking the starter characters is pretty easy if you continue doing the Archon quest.
Genshin Impact also offers some good 4-star characters that players can unlock for free by fulfilling some criteria. Here are some special playable characters that players can unlock for free later in the game.
How to unlock Noelle in Genshin Impact?
Players can unlock Noelle by using the Beginners’ wish banner. When you download the game you will get enough currencies to use the gacha one or two times. Make sure to use them on Noelle’s banner, as she is a guaranteed drop.
How to unlock Barbara in Genshin Impact?
To unlock Barbara, players must achieve adventure rank 20. Once you reach AR rank 20, you will get Barbara for free. The character “Barbara” is sent to your in-game mail. There you can claim her and start using her to do some “Hydro” elemental damage.
How to unlock Xiangling in Genshin Impact
To unlock Xiangling for free players must-have adventure rank 20 or above. Moreover, you must complete Spiral Abyss Floor 3 Chamber 3 to unlock her. Xiangling is one of the best “Pyro” characters in Genshin Impact. You should redeem her before she is out of the free characters pool.
Note: Players can claim Barbara and Xiangling for free only before patch 1.1 comes out.
