Kamisato Ayato, the head of Kamisato Clan and big brother of Genshin Impact’s playable five-star character, Ayaka, is finally becoming a playable character himself.
According to new data-mined information and a few leaks, Kamisato Ayato will release as a playable character in the coming updates. In terms of appearance, Ayato’s character design draws a lot of resemblance to Zhongli and his sister Ayaka.
In this Genshin Impact article, we will share whatever information we have on Kamisato Ayato, his element, the weapon of choice, elemental abilities, and possible release date.
Kamisato Ayato’s Element
As per the current leaks, Kamisato Ayato is a Hydro user, a counterpart to her sister Kamisato Ayaka, a Cryo user.
Kamisato Ayato’s Weapon of Choice
Leaks suggest that Kamisato Ayato is going to be the first Hydro Polearm user in Genshin Impact. Moreover, similar to Childe, Ayato can change his stance to make different weapons using his hydro vision.
Kamisato Ayato Elemental Skills and Burst Attack
Kamisato Ayato’s Elemental Skill is similar to Childe’s Foul Legacy: Raging Tide skill. Ayato can change his stance to make weaponry made of pure water, dealing Hydro DMG to surrounding opponents. For now, the rumored weapon that Ayato uses during his elemental skill is a Claymore.

Ayato’s Elemental Burst attack summons a vortex that pulls enemies towards itself while constantly applying hydro element within its range, dealing hydro damage and buffing characters with hydro damage bonus +40%.
Kamisato Ayato Release Date
Kamisato Ayato’s release date is closer than we think. Many leaks suggest that Ayato will release in the second half of the Genshin Impact 2.2 update. However, that is far-fetched as version 2.2 is focused on character re-runs. And, the only confirmed new character we are getting with the next major update is Thoma.
Kamisato Ayato will likely release with Genshin Impact 2.3 or 2.4 update.
