Genshin Impact offers a plethora of playable characters, where each character is capable of becoming the protagonist of his/her own story. At current, we have more than thirty playable characters in the game, with more than eight characters, next in line to release. These eight characters include Kazuha, Yoimiya, Ayaka, our little Tanuki Ninja – Sayu and others.

We have talked about the other characters, and it was due time we shared whatever details we have on the playable character Sayu. She is the least talked one, and there are only a few handful details on her. So, without any delay, here is everything we know about Sayu in Genshin Impact.
Sayu’s element and weapon of choice
According to some old leaks, Sayu is an Anemo user whose weapon of choice is a Claymore. It is hard to imagine how a small girl like Sayu can hold a big Claymore weapon. But, as you know, leaks are subject to change, so you can expect Sayu to wield a different weapon.
Like the leak suggested that Albedo uses a bow. However, upon release, Albedo was a sword user. So expect some changes with Sayu too.
Sayu’s mention in Genshin Impact
Sayu is from the Inazuma region and we do not have any released playable characters from Inazuma yet. But, Ayaka’s data-mined voice lines does mention Sayu.
“The tanuki ninja? She’s neither a tanuki, nor a ninja (laughs). Next time you see her, give her this candy!”
If we go with Ayaka’s voice line, Sayu is not a ninja in actual. However, she likes to dress like a Tanuki(Racoon dog) and act like a ninja.
Sayu’s banner release date
The next Genshin Impact playable characters to release are Kazuha and Yoimiya. Kazuha’s release is almost confirmed, however, Yoimiya is rumored to release with the Inazuma region, along with Ayaka.

If we have to speculate, we will say that Sayu will release after the release of the Inazuma region in Genshin Impact.
