The Studio Ghibli-inspired Forgotton Anne, ThroughLine Games’ award-winning platformer, has today launched for iOS. It tells the story of Anne, a human lost in a world of sentient objects who’s sent by her mysterious master to quash a rebellion.

Fans of the legendary Studio Ghibli will love the game’s hand-animated art style, which looks incredible in motion. Complementing the visuals is a powerful orchestral score, performed by the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra.

The story will take you on a wild and emotional journey across the world of the Forgotlings; living lost items who long to return home to their beloved owners. Anne’s tale can go in a number of different directions depending on the choices you make throughout the game’s many branching conversations.

Gameplay sees you doing a bit of puzzling and platforming. There are plenty of unlockable skills to seek out and master, and puzzles are solved using your extensive knowledge of the magical force known as Anima.

The new version adds cloud saves and an impressive 33 pieces of unlockable concept art, so this might well be the definitive way to play.

Forgotton Anne is now available for download over on the App Store, with an optional free trial available for those who want to try before they buy.
