Home Memories Cheats: Tips & Strategy Guide

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Home Memories is a game that follows the guidelines of Homescapes, the famous match three game. In this alternative version of Homescapes you help Harold decorate, or rather rebuild his family’s beat-up house (and also adopt a kitten). Here, we have some very useful tips and tricks for you to get through the game smoother and decorate at your utmost potential.

Home Memories was initially named Harold Family, so you might remember it under that name, but nonetheless this game is your typical match three game, with a small twist: when you think you’re out of matches, you’re actually not! It has some unique tile setups and we are here to show you the best ones, in our Home Memories Cheats: Tips & Strategy Guide!

Connect to Facebook
By connecting the game to Facebook you can share your levels progression with your friends, but most importantly you will receive a gift of 1,000 coins to spend in game! Make sure you do that to ensure some easy money.

Complete each in-game day
Whenever you complete a mission, the progress bar rises. When it reaches 100% you receive a gift of gold and boosts. The more days you progress through, the better the reward at the end of the day!

Saving your moves
Whenever you start a game, you’re given a number of moves. If possible, plan ahead and create special tiles to help you conserve these moves because they turn into valuable special tiles and gold.

Change the decorations!
When you have finished a game and decide to complete a decorating mission, you are given three options. But if you want to have a unique style and decor, you can of course change the individual pieces of furniture!

By taping and holding on the decoration, you will be given the option to change it for a sum of gold (usually very affordable).

Pass the level, get the star
Whenever you pass a level, you get a star. Some missions require one star, some more. The best option if you want to learn the game’s fun story is to play several levels and then unlock the missions when you’ve gathered enough stars.

Caught between a rock and a hard place
Finding yourself in a stump? Spent over 15 lives on a level and it seems unbeatable? That’s because some levels are just too hard to do without a boost. Don’t be afraid of using a boost (or even three!) when you’re dealing with a difficult level. These boosts will be gained back faster than you’ll notice!

Log in rewards
By logging in to the game each day, you will get a login reward! It doesn’t have to be each day, so if you’re afraid your rewards will be reseted in case you forget to play for a day, don’t worry about it!

The days count only for the days that you’ve opened the game, so they don’t have to be consecutive. If you don’t have time to play, you can also only log for the rewards and stack them up for when you’ve got the time.

Double-tap special tiles
When you create special tiles, they sometimes can be stuck between two walls or on a single column or without any fruit nearby to swipe them to. When in this situation, or whenever you think you get the most out of your tile by being in the same position, you can just double tap to activate it.

Special tiles
bomb: created by matching 6 or more fruit in a “T” or “L” formation. They destroy everything around them upon explosion.
pinwheel: created by matching 4 or more fruit in a square formation. When destroyed, they take off towards a tile that you need upon achieving your level goal.
rocket beam: created by matching 4 fruit in a row or column. You can tell what direction the beam will go in by the way it’s pointing.
rainbow ball: created by matching 5 fruit. When you drag it towards a fruit, it will immediately remove all fruit of that color.

A very good use of the special tiles is matching two or more together! For example, by matching a rainbow ball to a bomb, it will create lots of bombs deployed throughout the fruit, thus creating lots of explosions.

Also, my favorite of them all: matching two rainbow balls! This will clear all tiles on your screen (possibly helping you clear the level in just a couple of moves), but it’s not easy to make!

Always try to combo
When you match more than three fruit, you will create a special tile. Try playing around those tiles to clear the level fast and easy, and with tons of bonus points. It’s a fun and creative way to constantly challenge yourself to achieve higher score!

These are our Home Memories tips and tricks for you guys! We hope the guide will help you achieve the top levels with highest score, and if you know something that we haven’t mentioned above, don’t hesitate to let us know in the comments below!

I have been playing games ever since I can remember. My passion for video games and especially pixel graphic games must have started back when I was little, because every time I try a new game with pixel graphics I immediately fall addicted to it! I started writing about mobile games in November 2018, focusing on creating in-depth guides for the most popular titles out there. Other than games, I am also passionate about design, and working on my very own pixel game in my free time.
