The Mercenaries game mode in Hearthstone is one of the new and most exciting features for players because you to enjoy the game in a whole different gameplay concept. In this mode, you must put together a reliable team with the necessary mercenaries to help you scale through PvE battles or put their mettle to the test against other players.
However, due to the number of available mercenaries, many players will find it hard or even impossible to rely on a team. The roles and abilities of mercenaries will inspire players to adjust their lineups based on the current challenge they’re facing.
While adaptation remains a fact in mercenaries mode, there are several mercenaries alongside team compositions that are on a whole different level when compared to other available options that are found in the mercenaries mode. Even if you don’t possess a mercenary that you can use to complete a team, you can simply use a mercenary with similar stateline to fill the role.
So in this article we’ll be listing out the best PvE teams in the Mercenaries mode in Hearstone.
A healing hand – Tirion Fordring, Anduin Wrynn and Cariel Roame
These are one of the best PvE teams that focuses on endurance in the early stages of the game. Even if your opponent possesses AI (Artificial Intelligence), prolonging a match can trigger mistakes on their end. Cariel Roame and her taunt makes her an integral part of the lineup while Tirion and Anduin with other characters that possess better buffs and healing abilities.
Using this lineup, your main goal should be to outlast your opponent. And in order to complete the team, you will have to fill up the remaining lineup with other characters with good buffing or healing abilities.
Powerful team of Orcs – Thrall, Samuro, Xyrella, Gul’dan, Rokara, Garrosh
For players looking to spend less time fighting an opponent, then this powerful lineup with filled with aggressive orcs should help you scale through enemies in no time. Orcs possess incredible strength and they’re even more powerful when they’re fighting side by side as a team with other orcs.
So if you want to play with this team and you don’t yet have all the characters mentioned above, you can simply fill open spots with other orcs, especially those that despite being strong alone, become even stronger when fighting as a team with other orcs.
Purged by Fire – Ragnaros, Baron Geddon, Antonidas, Diablo, Cariel, Xyrella
Ragnaros remains one of the most iconic characters in Hearthstone and the blazing monster did not forfeit that title in the Mercenaries mode. Ragnaros is labelled by many as one of the most powerful characters in mercenaries mode and can turn the tides of a match on his own.
His supporting characters are in their various ways, formidable with unique abilities that makes them difficult to replace. If you don’t possess any of the aforementioned mercenaries to bring this lineup to life, you can play temporarily using the most powerful ones you have until you are able to unlock all the mentioned ones.
Must Preserve Nature – Malfurion, Guff, Bru’kan, Thrall, Anacondra, Brightwing
This set of mercenaries aren’t as reliable as others when it comes to dealing heavy damage towards enemies but if you have the necessary resources to manage them, then you can decide to use them.
Similar to the team of Orcs, this nature-preserving team is more effective when they fight together. They become more powerful as you gather Nature damage buffs that allows even the weakest member of your team to hit enemies with high damage attacks. If you’re lacking some of the characters mentioned, you can complete the lineup using other mercenaries with Nature abilities.
Festival of spells – Millhouse, Tyrande, Antonidas, Cariel, Xyrella, Samuro
Antonidas and Millhouse are the best duo nukers available in the entire Mercenaries mode. However, they can barely survive on their own as they require supporting characters to protect them because they need a certain amount of time before they can display their full potential.
The two characters with deadly AoE (Area of Effect) nukes makes this lineup a terrific one because they can clear boards early and win matches early whereas they should’ve taken longer. Since Tyrande and Millhouse are rewarded to players for free, this lineup can be completed with little time.
However, for players who do not have any of the other characters, you can simply add mercenaries that are able to support Tyrande, Antonidas and Millhouse with taunts and help them withstand pressure at the early stages of a match.
Kripparian’s favorite – Anduin, Xyrella, Velen, Brightwing, Bru’kan
This is for players looking to gather farm experience and earn as much coins as they can from it. This is a team that sticks to the board with the Velen-buffed Anduin who can deal an incredible amount of AoE damage to enemies and heal your whole lineup more than ones.
Xyrella, Velen and Anduin are the main mercenaries of this team and once you have them, you can complete the lineup using any other powerful mercenaries that you have but preferably those that are able to withstand lots of pressure is recommended.
