There’s a lot to like about Hogwarts Legacy, especially when it comes to its captivating storyline, which should keep you playing for hours, as it is a story-driven experience. And like pretty much every open-world game there is, the story comes to an end and reaches a point where there will no longer be missions or quests, and you’re left to explore.

In Hogwarts Legacy, you may be wondering if you can keep playing after beating the main story. Here is all you need to know.

Can you keep playing Hogwarts Legacy after beating the main story?

As players who always aim for 100% completion in games already know, it can take a very long time to achieve that, especially in extensive story-driven titles such as Red Dead Redemption 2 and, in this case, Hogwarts Legacy.

Hogwarts Legacy also comes with dozens of side quests that allow players to explore areas and discover things that the mainline missions don’t cover. So what happens when you complete everything there is to do in Hogwarts Legacy, including those side quests? Can you still explore the world afterward? Luckily, the answer is yes, you can.

While the game’s developers are yet to share any information on whether players can continue exploring the game’s magical world after completing the story, some players who have completed the main and side quests have shared that you can, in fact, continue exploring Hogwarts after finishing the story.

A quality assurance tester on Reddit also confirmed that players can still explore Hogwarts after completing the main story. However, they later took down all responses to questions that players asked about the game.

Considering the number of side quests players are tasked with in Hogwarts Legacy, it’s only reasonable to be allowed to continue playing even after completing the main story—not only for this game, but for pretty much every other open-world title.

So, if you’re looking to explore and discover the magical and wonderful creatures scattered across Hogwarts and beyond, then the good news is you can continue to do so after completing the game’s main story.

Hogwarts Legacy launched on Feb. 10 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users get to play the game from April 4, while Switch players must wait until July 25.
