Monster Hunter Rise is about to become a game that is packed with content even more next month thanks to the release of the Sunbreak expansion, which will bring, among other things, new monsters to hunt, new gameplay mechanics, new customization options, gameplay tweaks and more.
As the expansion promises to bring so much to the game, players may be wondering if Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak will be big not only in terms of new content but also of file size. Thankfully, it seems like players won’t need a lot of free storage space to install the expansion.
How Big Is The File Size for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak?
In early May 2022, Capcom confirmed on the Japanese Monster Hunter Rise official Twitter profile that a new game update including the Sunbreak content will go live on Nintendo Switch and PC, and thus Steam Deck, on June 30, the same day the expansion releases globally. This expansion will require 13 GB of free storage space, which is not that much, considering how much new content Sunbreak will introduce.
If you are not planning to purchase Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak at launch, unfortunately, you will still have to download the update to be able to play the game online. On the other hand, this will allow you to jump straight into the new hunts once you do purchase the expansion. And if you’re a true Monster Hunter fan, you eventually will: no real hunter can ignore the call of the Master Rank, after all!
