How Do Auto Combos Work in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax

Almost all of the fighting games developed by Arc System Works feature tons of complex gameplay mechanics, and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax isn’t that different in this regard, sporting a lot of interconnected gameplay systems that need to be mastered to become the best player around and dominate the competition.

Even with its complexity, however, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is a rather welcoming game as it not only features an extensive Practice mode that teaches players the basics, but also a unique auto combo system that can make the game fun even for newcomers. Here’s all you need to know about this system.

How Do Auto Combos Work in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, just like the original Persona 4 Arena, features an auto combo, or Barrage, system that allows players to unleash a full combo that deals decent damage by repeatedly pressing a single button, the light attack button, with the stick in the neutral position. If you have played the original Persona 4 Arena, you will notice that the original auto combos for all returning characters can be used by the Shadow type characters, while the regular versions have new ones, although the first inputs are the same as they used to be in the previous entry in the series.

The auto combos, while definitely not optimized for high damage, are pretty decent, and they are great to use for those who are learning the game. With them, you can focus on learning the basics of the game while being able to dish out decent damage and have fun right from your very first match. Or, you can use them to learn how the character works, and branch out from certain inputs to create your own combos. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax features a lot of interesting possibilities, and it is up to the player to use them to their full potential!
