How to Use Naesala

Naesala is a Blue Beast Flying type that can move around the map with relative ease. As a Blue unit, he performs well against Red units but is weak against Green units. Let’s take a look at his stats and equipment.

A 5-star Naesala at max level with have the following stats, with the listed stat growth in percentage:

  • HP: 35/39/42 (50%)
  • ATK: 29/32/35 (55%)
  • SPD: 35/38/41 (65%)
  • DEF: 21/24/28 (45%)
  • RES: 25/29/32 (50%)
  • Overall: 161-163

Weapon

  • Raven King Beak: Grants Spd+3. If unit’s Spd > foe’s Spd, deals damage = 70% of difference between stats. (Maximum bonus of +7 damage. Combos with Phantom Spd.) At start of turn, if unit is adjacent to only beast or dragon allies or if unit is not adjacent to any ally, unit transforms (otherwise, unit reverts). If unit transforms, unit can move 1 extra space. (That turn only. Does not stack.) If unit transforms, grants Atk+2.

Special

  • Blazing Wind: Before combat this unit initiates, foes in an area near target take damage equal to 1.5 x (unit’s Atk minus foe’s Def or Res).

Passives

  • Darting Blow 1 (A): Temporarily gain SPD+ if you initiate combat.
  • Swift Sparrow 1-2 (A): Temporarily gain ATK/SPD+ if you initiate combat.
  • Guard 1-3 (B): If HP is high enough, inflicts Special Cooldown Charge -1 on opponent.

As you can see, Naesala’s stat growth gives him higher SPD. You’ll want to pair him with other Beasts or Dragons to allow him to transform at the start of every turn. Alternatively, you can have him just be a lone wolf, and he’ll transform still, as long as he’s not adjacent to any allies.

When transformed, Naesala gains ATK+2, which will help him hit harder in this setup. His ultimate weapon grants him additional SPD, because the more SPD he has over his opponent, the more damage he’ll inflict. As such, his passives give him more SPD to take full advantage of this. If an enemy might survive Naesala’s initial assault, his Blazing Wind special might be enough to finish the job.

So, the general strategy is to make sure Naesala can transform, then have him attack slow targets for maximum damage. Naesala will absolutely wreck Green units with low SPD, so keep an eye out for those.
