While Persona 5 Strikers retains many of the gameplay mechanics seen in Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal, there are a few signature mechanics that did not make the jump. Social Links, which made their debut in Persona 3, did return in Persona 5 as the Confidant system, but these mechanics are nowhere to be found in Persona 5 Strikers, replaced with the Bond system.
The Bond system works significantly differently from the Confidant system, but it is still extremely important, as it lets you learn and power-up a variety of skills that will help the Phantom Thieves in their new adventure. So, here’s how the system works and how to take advantage of it fully.
The Bond System
As already mentioned, the Bond system replaces the Confidant system seen in Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal. This time around, you will no longer improve the relationship with other characters via special events to learn some useful skills. Instead, all you need to do to unlock new skills and enhance them in Persona 5 Strikers is invest BOND points.
How To Get BOND Points
To unlock and improve Bond Skill, you require a certain amount of Bond points. These can be earned in a variety of ways.
The simplest way to get more Bond Points is by winning battles. This method, however, can be grind-heavy and somewhat slow, so use it only when absolutely necessary. If you’re close to completing a Jail, it’s better to complete it rather than stop and grind, for example, as defeating a Monarch will improve your current Bond level, rewarding you with more Bond points than you would get by grinding.
Completing Requests is a very good way to earn more points. These requests are usually very simple missions to complete inside Jails, so make sure to accept as many of them as possible before heading out. Most of the times, you will complete them without even trying.
Cooking meals will also make you earn a good amount of Bond Points. Please note that you will get points the first time you cook any recipe only, so doing it multiple times just for them is a waste of resources.
Staying true to the Persona 5 systems as much as possible, Persona 5 Strikers also lets you earn Bond Points by visiting places with other characters. Make sure to explore each new location as much as possible to unlock special events that will increase your points.
Once you have earned enough Bond Points to learn some skills, you should prioritize the Bondmaker skill. This skill lets you increase your Bond level more quickly, making your farming way more effective and less time-consuming.
