As fans of the Mario sports games know, the character roster is extremely important, and it can make or break the game, as fewer characters mean less variety and potentially more restrictive gameplay.

So, how many characters will be included in Mario Strikers: Battle League at launch? Let’s find out.

How Many Characters Are in Mario Strikers: Battle League?

Mario Strikers: Battle League is apparently going to feature only 10 characters at launch, as confirmed by a new overview trailer that goes over the game’s most important features and the official website.

The 10 confirmed Mario Strikers: Battle League characters are:

  1. Mario
  2. Luigi
  3. Peach
  4. Yoshi
  5. Toad
  6. Rosalina
  7. Bowser
  8. Donkey Kong
  9. Wario
  10. Waluigi

Compared to other recent Mario sports games, like Mario Golf: Super Rush, the launch character roster for Mario Strikers: Battle League looks quite limited. The game, however, may get more characters via free updates or paid DLC after launch, so it is definitely too soon to start getting worried. Additionally, if the game features a strong customization system, we should expect the frankly small launch roster to not be that much of a problem.
