New Pokémon Snap

How Many Pokémon Are There In New Pokémon Snap?

New Pokémon Snap may not be a main entry in the Pokémon series, but this doesn’t mean that the game has to feature a low number of Pokémon. The contrary actually: the game features a surprisingly large Pokémon roster including monsters from every generation. And things could even get better in the future, judging from what has been discovered.

So, how many Pokémon are included exactly in New Pokémon Snap? Let us find out!

How Many Pokémon Are There In New Pokémon Snap?

New Pokémon Snap keeps track of all the Pokémon you have discovered in the Lental region with the Photodex, a new version of the classic Pokédex that features all the additional information you need in a game so different from regular Pokémon as this.

The Lental Region Photodex features 214 different Pokémon taken from all the Pokémon generations seen so far. Many fan-favorite make their appearances such as first generation Pokémon Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Eevee.

Are More Pokémon Coming To New Pokémon Snap?

While the Lental Region Photodex currently features “only” 214 entries, there’s a very good chance that more Pokémon will be added to New Pokémon Snap down the line. Well-known dataminer @SciresM discovered that the game’s code features Pokémon ID numbers with empty data which suggests they have been reserved for new Pokémon. With so few Legendary Pokémon included in the base game, it wouldn’t be surprising to see more getting added to the game via free updates or paid DLC.
