Looking to get those sick weapons in Genshin Impact, but don’t fully understand how the Pity system works? Maybe you want to know how much pity you’ll need to get a Weapon Banner? Read on ahead to have all your doubts cleared!
How does the Pity System Work in Genshin Impact?
The Genshin Impact pity system guarantees that you will receive a 5-star character after a certain number of Wishes on any given banner. How many Wishes depends on which Banner you choose to Wish on.
Each Banner type has its own pity system. You’re only guaranteed a 5-star drop with the right number of wishes on that Banner type, so Character Event Banners won’t count towards the pity system on the Standard Banner. However, the pity system does carry over between banners of the same type (e.g. Character Banner to Character Banner), so don’t worry about missing your shot if you can’t afford dozens and dozens of wishes on a single banner.
By default, 5-star characters and weapons have a shared minor 0.6% chance of being pulled with each Wish on the Standard Banner. Similarly, 5-star weapons have a 0.6% chance of being pulled with each Wish on a Weapon Event Banner. The pity system will ensure you get a 5-star weapon by your 80th wish on the Weapon Event Banner.
The Genshin Impact pity system does not possess a direct in-game counter, but you can keep track of where you are by selecting the History button on the Wish page. This shows you all your pulls, meaning you can count backwards until you finally reach your last 5-star drop. Remember, each Banner type has its own pity system, so you need to count draws for each specific banner.
