Adding Friends in Minecraft Bedrock

Minecraft Bedrock is available to play on various platforms, unlike Java which is only available on Windows, Mac and Linux. Bedrock can be downloaded and played for free on the following platforms:

  • Xbox One & Series X/S
  • Playstation 4 & 5
  • Nintendo Switch
  • Windows 10 & 11
  • Fire OS/TV
  • Android
  • IOS
  • Windows Mobile
  • Samsung Gear VR

With so many platforms available players can make and add friends from all over, as long as they are also running Bedrock. To add friends you must all have Microsoft accounts and each have a subscription on your chosen platforms, if needed, to give you access to online features. This could be Xbox Gold, or Nintendo Switch Online, etc.

Adding friends in Minecraft Bedrock is so simple. Just follow the steps below:

  • Sign in with your Microsoft account
  • Launch the game
  • Select a world, or create a new one
  • Open the game menu
  • Select ‘Invite to Game’
  • Select ‘Find Cross-Platform Friends’
  • Enter your friend’s gamertag
  • Select ‘Add Friend’

And that is it- now you have a whole world to explore with your Minecraft friends.

Once you have invited all your friends you can start mining and creating! If you have any issues with friends online you can report their behaviour in the same menu where you added them to the game.
