After a long wait, Sony has finally implemented the long-requested update that makes it easier for users to take upload screenshots of their PlayStation 5 to their mobile device.
This feature was initially available in Japan only for a while, and the new ‘Auto-Upload’ feature seems to have made its way in phases across the United States. Many gamers have reported that they now have access to their PS5 screenshots on their mobile phones.
In this article, we’ll be guiding you on how to use the Auto-Upload feature that allows you view your PS5 screenshots on your Android or iOS device.
This update gives you the ability to auto-upload not just screenshots, but also videos to your device using the PlayStation mobile app. Once you’ve linked the PlayStation mobile app to your console, screenshots and videos will be automatically uploaded to the app, and from there you can edit or share them.
This puts a stop the formerly strenuous method where users have to share the media to their socials in order to access it on their mobile phones. So, below is a step by step guide on how to enable the Auto-Upload feature:
- Boot up your PS5 and navigate to the Media Gallery app.
- When the pop-up appears asking if you want to enable auto-upload, choose “Enable Auto-Upload.”
- Alternatively, find the option in the “Captures and Broadcasts” menu.
- Sign into the PS App on your mobile device, and voila!
Any new screenshots you take from here on out will be automatically uploaded to this platform. So far, only North American users have seen this feature, but other countries are expected to get it soon.
