How to Beat Ancient Construct in Ruined King: A League of Legends Story

The Ancient Construct is fought during the Lost Origins sidequest as you explore the Vault of the Vesani. Given the boss’ attack patterns, you will want to bring a balanced party with a tank, possibly Braum, healer, and attacker.

While the Ancient Construct’s most common abilities like Hyper Punch, which deals moderate damage, and Disorient, which deals light damage and applies a random debuff, aren’t much to worry about, the Obliterate ability is. This ability deals fatal damage to all Champions, and can only be interrupted if the boss is attacked twice with abilities that go off while in the Point of Failure hazard. When this happens, the boss will use Backfire, which deals moderate damage to itself and increases all received damage by 50%.

As manipulating your turns to prevent Obliterate from activating may be difficult, you will always want to be at max health, in case the boss manages to use the attack. Additionally, every other attack should be tanked by Braum, who can also remove all debuffs with his Level 1 Ultimate. If you do manage to prevent the boss from using Obliterate, use the opening granted by Backfire to unleash as much damage as possible. With the right setup, you won’t have to prevent Obliterate more than a couple of times.
