Ingo

How to Beat Ingo in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Pokémon Legends: Arceus was released last month after much fanfare and hype. It is the latest installment in the Pokémon series and takes a much different turn than its predecessors do in terms of storytelling and game mechanics.

The game takes place in the ancient Hisui region, which would become modern-day Sinnoh. Fighting and capturing Pokémon is drastically different with battles taking place on the overworld instead of turn-based instance battles, as was the staple of the series thus far.

One of the characters from the older Pokémon games makes his appearance here: Warden Ingo. He can be quite challenging, but there are ways to beat him easily.

Warden Ingo

Warden Ingo is a part of the Pearl Clan and one of the trainers that players will battle in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

Ingo has traveled back in time and has lost his memory. However, despite that, his desire to battle is still very strong. After finishing the game, players will be challenged by various trainers in the Training Grounds of Jubilife Village.

At the end of these battles, the player can take on Warden Ingo and his team of Pokémon.

Defeating Warden Ingo

Initially, fighting Warden Ingo in the Ancient Quarry is not too difficult. His team consists of:

  • Level 41 Machoke
  • Level 41 Tangela
  • Level 42 Gliscor

Machoke and Tangela can be handled with Flying-type Pokémon, and Gliscor can be taken down with a couple of good Ice-type attacks.

It’s the second battle with Ingo in the Training Grounds that can be challenging for players. His team in this battle consists of:

  • Level 67 Machamp
  • Level 67 Probopass
  • Level 67 Tangrowth
  • Level 67 Magnezone
  • Level 67 Alakazam
  • Level 68 Gliscor

The strategy to take down Machamp, Tangrowth, and Gliscor is still the same, except with higher-level Pokémon this time. Probopass can be handled easily with Fighting-type or Ground-type Pokémon, Magnezone with Ground-type or Fire-type Pokémon, and Alakazam with Ghost-type or Dark-type Pokémon.

For best results, we recommend a team that is Level 70 or above.
