Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 has introduced a new item recently: the Guardian Shield. This new feature can add some much needed defence in moments of heavy fire. As you may have noticed this shield looks like something the Ageless Champion, who resides in the Citadel, would use. Players are told to use this shield to block shots in one of the weekly quests, so let’s find out how to do this! Check out the guide below to find out how to block shots using the Guardian Shield in Fortnite.
Blocking Shots in Fortnite Using the Guardian Shield
This Guardian Shield can be used to block shots coming from any player in front of you. It can be used in two ways: thrown down in front of you and your squad, or held out in front of you. Either way, the Guardian Shield throws up a blue holographic shield for temporary defence.
To find a Guardian Shield, the best places to looks are regular chests and Oathbound Chests. The Oathbound Chests are the big silver chests that give off a mysterious humming sound when you are nearby. They are usually found in the Citadel, but can be found elsewhere.

The Guardian Shield takes up one space in your inventory and can be used indefinitely, but will need time to recharge after use- 10 seconds to be exact. Use the Guardian Shield for yourself by pressing your primary fire button to hold it out in front of you. To throw it down in front of you, press the aiming button instead.
