Star Trek Fleet Command is a 4X “explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate” mobile strategy game created by Irish developer Digit Game Studios and published by Scopely and CBS Interactive. Players have the freedom to explore star systems, build ships, mine resources, level up, complete missions, join alliances, and battle other players via PvP.
The game follows the Kelvin timeline from the Star Trek franchise, and includes iconic characters from the series: Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Sulu, Uhura, Nero, and more! Players can collect and upgrade characters and deploy them on ships for an RPG role-playing game-style element as well.
Ships are an integral part of the game and of the Star Trek franchise overall. In this game, ships are used for everything from transport to battle to logistics. Today, we will talk about how to build and scrap ships.
Building Ships
Building ships is essential to keep a standing fleet ready at all times. Ships are created at the Shipyard, and the building is instrumental to keeping the ship supply steady.
The Shipyard can also be upgraded for various benefits. Each upgrade will allow the player to build newer models of ships. It also decreases the construction time for all ships further with each upgrade level.
Scrapping Ships
On the flip side, scrapping ships is also a necessity, especially for older ships that are outdated and do not have much value to contribute. Scrapping ships requires the Scrapyard building, and it can be created by players that have reached Operations level 20.
These ships can be dismantled for resources which can be used to make newer and better ships as per the level of the Shipyard. The dismantled materials may also include parts required for newer ships. The higher the level of the Scrapyard, the better the quality of the ships the player can scrap.
