Wylde Flowers is a farming simulation video game developed and published by Studio Drydock. It was launched through Apple Arcade on February 18, 2022. It will also become available later for the PC.
According to Studio Drydock, as mentioned before, the game was so successful that it is now slated for not only a PC launch but also on multiple consoles. The gameplay loop and story of the game is pretty unique, which has managed to hook its fair share of players.
Gameplay
The player controls Tara Wylde, who runs a farm at a mountain path. Beyond the family farm, the game’s story involves fantasy elements, such as ghouls, witches, broomsticks, potions, and transformation into a cat. Tara lives a charming farmer’s life during the day and lives a witch’s magical life at night.
Today we will be talking about some of the farming-based features of the game, and one of them involves Squids and how to actually catch them.
Catching Squids
Squids are caught from the beach via fishing. Getting suitable bait and waiting for a bite from a squid can be taxing, but rewarding for the black ink that they provide (although coal from the mines can be a suitable alternative for black ink).
To catch squids, basically just toss the fishing rod into the water, utilizing chub bait or even better, crickets. Once there is a bite, there will be a water splash indicating that a fish is on the hook. Repeatedly tapping will reel in the catch faster.
To make sure the catch is a squid, make sure it has a lobster-like shape. However, this is not always 100% accurate because it might be clams, oysters, or shrimp as well. The odds of getting squids this way are quite low, but there is an easier way of getting them.
If enough fish are sold to Bruno at the fish shop, eventually the player will unlock squids in his inventory to buy them! Much easier and let stressful, so we recommend this method as well.
