Among the most powerful enemies you will have to defeat is the demon Arioch. Here’s how to defeat him without too much trouble.

How to Defeat Arioch in Shin Megami Tensei V

Arioch is fought at the end of the Demon’s Lord Castle, and he can be a very difficult demon to take down if you bring the wrong demons with you and if you employ the wrong strategy.

Arioch is weak to Electricity skills, so bring as many demons that can use Zio skills and the like to exploit his weakness and get some extra turns. You should, however, also bring demons that can use Light skills, as you will need them to take out the two Decarabia demons that are summoned right at the start of the battle as quickly as possible. They can use Megidola to deal Almighty damage and buff the whole enemy party with Masukukaja, so you will want them out as soon as possible.

Once the two Decarabias are out, you can focus on Arioch. He uses Physical and Ice attacks, so bringing demons that can resist, null, or drain these elements will make the fight easier. In addition, you will want to bring as many Ice Dampeners as possible, since Arioch uses Mabufudyne after charging Magatsuhi, which can defeat in a single attack even demons that are not weak against Ice. No matter what, make sure the Nahobino is not weak against Ice, or you will have an extremely hard time.
