How to Defeat Gunnar in Fortnite Chapter 3

With the arrival of Fortnite v19.20, we have a new mythic boss added to the game called Gunnar. You can find him in the newly added location Covert Cavern. However, when it comes to defeating him—it’s another story.

Defeating Gunnar is a daunting task for new and old players. Seeing that, we prepared a handy guide that shares some tips and battle strategies that will help you defeat Gunnar in Fortnite. 

How to Defeat Gunnar in Fortnite Chapter 3

To defeat Gunnar in Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1, you have to engage him in a battle of attrition. Why? Because Gunnar has around 650 HP. And he can call IO Guard soldiers, instructing them to kill you.

Before you engage in a battle with Gunnar, make sure you have a decent quality loot best suited for long-mid-range fights. Keep a few throwables handy too.

Once you are well equipped, head towards Covert Cavern’s central part. There you will find the Gunnar mythic boss. Use long-range weapons to lower his HP. Make sure you maintain distance, or else he can use his charge attack on you, dealing an immense amount of damage. 

If you are running out of loot, you can kill the IO Guards. They drop loot too. 

Make sure you have healing items on you to make the fight easier. Just keep moving and engaging Gunnar and his minions, and eventually, you will bring his HP to 0.
