Being close to one of the leaders of Bethel, Vasuki is a force to be reckoned with. Here’s everything you need to know to take this enemy down without too much trouble.

How to Defeat Vasuki in Shin Megami Tensei V

Vasuki is fought in Asakusa in the Taito ward, the game’s final ward. As he is a level 72 demon, you should prepare for a tough fight, although a solid strategy and the right party composition can help to make this battle a little more manageable.

What truly makes the battle against Vasuki challenging is the demon’s ability to inflict a variety of status ailments with skills like Frenzied Chomp, Toxic Spray, Makajamaon, Slumber Vortex, and others. Since the demon can inflict pretty much every regular status ailment in the game, and will hardly fail due to his extremely high Luck stat, you will want to bring demons that can heal status ailments with skills like Me Patra or even just items like Amrita Showers. If you have demons that resist ailments, it’s all the better.

As for dealing as much damage as possible to Vasuki, you will want to bring demons that can use the most powerful Fire skills, as the demon is weak against this element. While fire-based demons are weak to Ice, you shouldn’t worry too much about it, as the only Ice skill Vasuki can use is Mabufudyne, which he will unleash only after charging Magatsuhi, which makes it easy to counter it with an Ice Dampener.

With a solid strategy to counter the status ailments that he can inflict, taking Vasuki shouldn’t be too difficult. Heal when needed, attack with Fire, and the demon will soon become history.
