How to do the Hogwarts Legacy New Zealand Trick

If you're eager to get your hands on the game, here's how to do the Hogwarts Legacy New Zealand Trick before global release

Hogwarts Legacy is a game that comes in different editions, and if you own the Deluxe Edition, you’ll also get a 72-hour early access that’ll give you access to the game on February 7, before players with Standard Edition can access the game from February 10.

This will allow Deluxe Edition players to actually start ahead and avoid being exposed to potential spoilers when the game launches globally three days after. In addition, Xbox players can enjoy the game a day earlier than expected on Feb 6, as long as they use a simple trick that’s exclusive to their devices. So in this article, we’ll be guiding you on how to do the Hogwarts Legacy New Zealand Trick.

How to do the Hogwarts Legacy New Zealand Trick

It’s called the New Zealand Trick because it involves changing your console location to New Zealand in order to gain access to the game a little bit earlier than the official early access period if you’re a Deluxe Edition owner.

So to do this, turn on your Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S console and go to the Settings menu. Then select System Settings and navigate to the Location menu. From there, you’ll see a drop-down menu that you can use to select any location you prefer, so what you need to do here is choose New Zealand.

Afterward, go to the Language settings option and change your Language Region to English (New Zealand).

So that’s pretty much what you have to do. Then restart your console, and the region change should take effect once you boot the console again. Since players in New Zealand will have access to the game’s 72-hour access period before the rest of the world, switching to that time zone will let you access the game at the same time, even if you’re not actually in New Zealand.

However, it’s worth adding that this method of changing the time zone to New Zealand only works on the Xbox version of Hogwarts Legacy. PlayStation owners will have to be patient to get their hands on the game on February 10, when it launches globally.
