Gols are Sandrock’s primary currency, and needless to say, you are going to need a lot of it for your career as a Builder. Here are some tips and tricks on how to earn Gols in My Time at Sandrock.
The best way to earn Gols in My Time at Sandrock
The absolute best way to earn lots of Gols in a relatively quick and efficient manner is through the Commerce Guild’s commission board. As you learned during the tutorial, the commission board gets filled every day with item requests from Sandrock’s citizens.
Commissions vary in terms of items and difficulty, and the harder a commission is, the more Gols and experience you get from it. At the start of the game, only the building commissions are available to you, but once you upgrade your workshop, the general commissions are unlocked.
Building commissions require refined materials, such as Copper Bars, Wooden Boards, Thick Ropes, to name a few. General commissions, on the other hand, need food items like vegetables, fish, meat, among others.
It’s important to keep in mind that all commissions have time limits. After accepting a commission, you have the allotted amount of time to finish the commission. Failing to finish a commission in time results in lost reputation points, so only accept commissions if you’re confident you can complete them in time.
Commissions are great because not only do they reward you with lots of Gols, they also improve your reputation with Sandrock’s townsfolk. You’ll eventually need to befriend the villagers if you want better opportunities in the future, and the commissions knock out two birds with one stone!

Recommended knowledge skills for earning lots of Gols
In the knowledge tree, the social tab has a lot of important skills that help you reel in the Gols. If you’re looking to make a pretty penny, it’s recommended to grab these knowledge skills as soon as you can.
The first skill to get is the Advertising Knowledge skill. The first two levels are good for improving your Builder in general, but level 3 increases the amount of Gols you get from the “More Gols!” newspaper advertisement.
The second skill to get is the Commissions and Contracting Knowledge skill. The first level increases the amount of commissions you can take at a time by 1, and the next level increases resource rewards from completing commissions.
The third skill to get is the Quick Delivery Knowledge skill, which increases the payout on commissions completed the same day they’re accepted. An easy way to handle this skill is to not accept commissions until you already have all the required items on hand.
The final skill to get is the Quality Bonus Knowledge skill, which increases the Gols payout at level 2 for submitting items that are above the quality requested. You should be running your finished items through the Refiner anyways to improve their qualities, as this improves payout even without this skill.
Once you get all the relevant skills and keep up with the commissions board, you should have no issues with Gols. If you know any other ways to earn lots of Gols, let us know in the comments below. Don’t forget to check out the rest of our My Time at Sandrock guides.
