How to Enchant Things in Minecraft

To enchant things, you need an Enchanting Table. To create it you will need the following material:

  • 4 units of obsidian. Obsidian is one of the most durable blocks in the game. It is obtained by contacting a lava block and a water block. It can only be mined with a diamond pickaxe.
  • Book. Crafted from leather and paper.
  • 2 diamonds. You can find them deep underground.

Having received all the ingredients, you need to correctly arrange them on the workbench.

To enchant an item in Minecraft, you need to go to the table and press the right mouse button. The table window will open.

Next, you need to place the item in one slot, and lapis lazuli in the other (1-3 pieces). There will be three options for the enchant and you need to choose one. The choice depends on the amount of experience.

The top line is the simplest and cheapest enchantments. The most powerful and expensive enchantments are at the bottom. When choosing an enchantment, only one of the magical properties that will be applied to the item is highlighted. The rest remain a mystery.

One item can only be enchanted once. If you try to enchant the item a second time, the table will not respond.

Upgrading the Enchanting Table

Initially, the table cannot issue powerful enchants. To upgrade it, you need to surround it with bookshelves. If you do this, letters from the shelves will literally fly into an open book on the table. To fully level up the table, you need 15 bookshelves. They are made from wood and books.

The shelves should stand at a distance of one block from the table. If there is something between the table and the shelves (for example, a torch), then they will not be able to strengthen the table.
