Learn how to escape the Goblin Camp in Baldur's Gate 3 without any hassle or with a bit of hassle---your choice!

Going against Goblins will take a lot of your time in the first act of Baldur’s Gate 3—if you choose to go down that road like I did. The Goblin Camp is a huge location, and while you don’t have to eliminate every single one of them to be done with it, you may experience some rough times due to the sheer number of hostile Goblins waiting there.

The good thing is that you don’t have to stick around for too long after you eliminate the Goblin leaders—Priestess Gut, Minthara, and Dror Ragzlin. If you don’t want to try your luck against the remaining Goblins, you may wish to get out of the fortress as fast as possible, preferably without getting noticed. For that reason, we bring you a guide on how to escape the Goblin Camp in Baldur’s Gate 3.

How to Escape the Goblin Camp in Baldur’s Gate 3

There are two ways to escape the Goblin Camp in Baldur’s Gate 3 after you’re done with the main quest tasks and don’t want to fight more Goblins.

If you want the fastest way to escape the Goblin Camp in Baldur’s Gate 3, you only need to open your map once you’re done with the Goblin bosses and teleport anywhere out of the camp. It’s that simple. To be honest, that sort of felt like cheating to me, so I decided to explore other options as well.

The more challenging way to escape the Goblin Camp in Baldur’s Gate 3 will require you to go through the Defiled Temple where you killed the High Priestess Gut and her bodyguard Polma. If you move past the big soldier statue and through the door with eyes and star symbols above it, you will end up in a room with a puzzle consisting of four circular plates on the ground—the so-called Moon Puzzle.

Each plate has markings representing different phases of the moon. To solve it and progress further, you need to rotate the plates so that the top circle (as seen from the entrance you used) contains all the full moon symbols. The opposite (bottom) plate should have all the new moon symbols (empty circles), and the left and right plates should contain two remaining full-moon markings each in the outer positions. After you get that combination, the hidden door in the wall ahead will open, and you will be able to go to the Underdark. Explore the rooms around the central statue once you’re down, and you will find a waypoint on the wall allowing you to teleport out of that area to safety.
