Eevee is the uncrowned king of evolution in the Pokémon franchise. You can evolve it into eight different variations—or eeveelutions, if you’d like—of various types, but when it comes to Pokémon Go, you definitely don’t want to leave that whole process to luck.
In case you’re wondering how to get Leafeon and Leafeon only, you’re in the right place. This guide explains how to evolve Eevee into Leafeon in Pokémon Go, so you don’t end up with yet another Vaporeon or Flareon.
How to Get Leafeon in Pokémon Go the Easy Way
The easiest way to ensure that your Eevee evolves into Leafeon is to rename it and use the nickname Linnea—a homage to the Eevee trainer Linnea, who owns a Leafeon in Pokémon Sun and Moon. This method is a neat little trick that works for all eeveelutions if you know which name to use.
But keep in mind that this method works only once. If you want another Leafeon, you will have to explore other methods.
How to Get Leafeon in Pokémon GO—Official Method
Luckily, there is another way to make sure you get your favorite Grass-type from your Eevee. It is a bit more complicated than just changing Eevee’s name, but because it is the official method, its usage is unlimited.
To get a Leafeon, you will need 25 Eevee Candy and the Mossy Lure Module, which you can get from the in-game Shop for 180 Coins. After you get the item, apply it to a PokéStop and stay near it. This also works if you were not the one to apply the item to the PokéStop, as long as you are around it.
The next thing you should do is open the Eevee you wish to evolve and check if Leafeon’s silhouette appears in the Evolve button. If it does, only then evolve your Eevee, and the outcome should be your new Leafeon.
One down, seven more to go! Good luck on getting all Eeveelutions and don’t forget to check out our dedicated Pokémon Go section.
