Phantump, the Grass/Ghost type Pokemon, evolves into Trevenant, who is finally not a tree stump, but an entire tree. Good for it.

If you want to know how to evolve Phantump in Pokemon Sword and Shield, then this guide is for you. Read on below to find out all you’ll need to know!

How to Evolve Phantump into Trevenant in Pokemon Sword and Shield

Before you can think about evolving Phantump, you need one in your possession, and the locations to find Phantump aren’t the most obvious ones, either. That being said, below is a list of the places in Pokemon Sword and Shield where you can find a Phantump of your own:

  • Glimwood Tangle
  • Max Raid Battle in Dappled Grove (northnmost den)
  • Watchtower Ruins (northernmost den)
  • Stony Wilderness (north-easternmost den)
  • Giant’s Mirror (southernmost den)
  • Slippery Slope
  • Old Cemetary
  • Snowslide Slope
  • Giant’s Foot
  • Three-Point Pass

Except for Slippery Slope, Phantump can be found as an encounter in the tall grass for all of these locations.

Now that you know where to get a Phantump, the next step is evolving it into a Trevenant, which requires two things: an internet connection and a trusty friend, as Phantump evolves when traded to another player.

We mentioned a trusty friend, so they are ensured to get your newly evolved Trevenant back to you after it’s traded.

Trevenant can also be caught without needing to evolve it from Phantump, in the same locations where you find its pre-evolution.
