Riolu is a Pokémon that was first introduced in the original Gen 4 games of Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum that takes place in the Sinnoh region. As such, Riolu is also a part of the Hisui region which is what Sinnoh used to be in the past.
Riolu is a fighting-type Pokémon that can be very useful in battle. Riolu evolves into the elusive Lucario, which is a combination steel/fighting type. The combination of these types makes Lucario a very coveted Pokémon and players playing Pokémon: Legends Arceus want to know how to acquire it in the game!
So how do you get Riolu in the first place?
Getting Riolu
Riolu is as elusive as they come because if the player isn’t paying attention, they may miss the chance to capture one!
Coming across a Riolu is a rare encounter and getting access to one involves the player dropping into the Icebound Falls in the Alabaster Icelands. The encounter is so rare that there is only one Riolu in that area.
Players looking to capture it must be wary of the Alpha Lucario in the area as well, but once this challenge has been overcome, Riolu should be captured easily enough! Now comes the part where the players need to evolve it.
Evolving Riolu into Lucario
Thankfully for players, the hardest part of this quest is behind them now. Evolving Riolu into Lucario does indeed take some effort but it’s not all that difficult.
The player needs to increase their friendship with Lucario to high levels, but only during the daytime. Once the required friendship level is met, there will be an option available to players to evolve Riolu into Lucario on Riolu’s summary screen.
Hit that evolve button and welcome the Aura Pokémon into your party!
