How to Farm Friendship Points in NEO: The World Ends With You

NEO: The World Ends With You features unique takes on typical role-playing game mechanics, such as the Social Network, a big skill tree that lets players unlock a variety of skills that can help them immensily during their time in the Reapers’ Game. Unlocking nodes on the Social Network requires Friendship Points, FP for short, which can be obtained in a variety of ways.

How to Farm Friendship Points in NEO: The World Ends With You

As mentioned above, Friendship Points are used to unlock nodes on the Social Network to learn new skills or unlock new inventory at the many different shops that are available in Shibuya. As such, you will want to farm as many of them as possible to unlock all of the Social Network nodes, which is also required to see everything the game has to offer, as one of the Secret Reports is unlocked after completing the Social Network.

Friendship Points are earned in two different ways: by completing side-quests and by successfully clearing Dive Battles. The first method is pretty self explainatory: all you need to do is complete side-quests that become available on certain chapters. You can learn how many are available at any given point in the story by checking the Mental Notes section of the main menu.

Earning FP by completing Dive Battles successfully is a little trickier. These battles feature a variety of different conditions that make them a little harder than usual, so it can be difficult to complete them in the shortest time possible, which is the condition for obtaining as many FP as possible for a particular battle. In case you cannot earn the Gold Rank rewards in any way, continue playing through the game and replay the Dive Battle at a later time: once you have seen one of the main game’s endings, you will likely be able to breeze through most of these Dive Battles.
