The tornados are finally here and everyone wants a ride! The massive twisters are wreaking havoc on the Fortnite world, ripping up trees, and taking players for a ride. If you want to find this amazing new feature that has just arrived in Fortnite Chapter 3, check out our guide below.
Finding a Tornado in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1
Contrary to what some players believed when the news of tornadoes was first leaked, they do not spawn in specific locations. The tornados actually spawn randomly and, because they do not show up on the map as locations or points of interest, you’ll need to keep an eye out if you want to find one.
Watch the skies around you for large grey cloud formations. Some of these grey masses can be lightning storms or giant whirlwinds.
Lightning storms are pretty amazing to look at, and have their own bonus of giving you a speed boost, but the tornados are so much fun! When they appear over land, they can scoop you up and let you glide around and inside them as they slowly make their way across an area, taking trees and things with them.
Over water, the tornados suck up water and act like a spinning fountain, which is pretty cool to see.
You can find a tornado by watching the skies all around you. If it looks like the tornado is pretty far away, grab the nearest vehicle and get there as fast as you can before it disappears—they are only temporary!
So far, we have found tornados at unnamed locations, such as between Logjam Lumberyard and Shifty Shafts, at Coney Crossroads, and north of Greasy Grove. They can spawn anywhere and will travel slowly. One even traveled straight into the storm, so we couldn’t ride it for long.
Good luck, and keep your eyes on the skies!
