How to Find Black Diablos in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin features so many monsters that it is sometimes difficult to track them all. Alongside regular monsters, the game features the rare Royal monsters as well as variants of regular monsters that aren’t particularly simple to find, so if you’re looking to find all of them, you have your work cut out for you.

Here’s where to find Black Diablos, a powerful variant of one of the most iconic monsters in the Monster Hunter series.

How to Find Black Diablos in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

Black Diablos is one of those Monsties in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin that you will want in your party as soon as possible since it is a significant upgrade over the base Diablos. To get one in your party, first, you will have to defeat the Black Diablos boss in Lamure Tower as part of the story. Once you do, Black Diablos will start appearing all over Lamure: fight it and make it retreat by damaging it enough and breaking its part to get one of its eggs. To fight it effectively, keep in mind that it uses Power attacks in its regular state, and Speed attacks while enraged. It is also weak to Ice, so make sure to bring the appropriate weapons to weaken it effectively.

Alternatively, you may find Black Diablos eggs in rare monster dens, although chances aren’t particularly high. If you do not feel particularly lucky, it’s considerably better to just find one in the field and make it retreat to its den.
