How to Find Tigrex in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin features a lot of powerful monsters, but most of them cannot compare to the Royal Monsters. These monsters are the most powerful in the game, and you will want them in your party as soon as possible to be able to take down all of the most powerful enemies in the game.

Here’s how to get Tigrex, one of these Royal Monsters with you, to join your party.

How to Find Tigrex in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

Tigrex is among the first Royal Monsters that can be encountered in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, as it can be found in the second big region of the campaign, Alcala. Unfortunately, it will be a while before you are able to find one of its eggs, as Tigrex is extremely powerful, and you will have to bring its HP down before you are able to make it retreat to its lair, where you will find its eggs.

Tigrex is always found in two specific areas. In the Alcala Highlands, you will find Tigrex sleeping behind a rock near the center of the map, right above the second exit from the left. Tigrex can also be found in the Harzgai Rocky Hill, right at the peak of the hill.

If you don’t want to travel back to Alcala for whatever reason, Tigrex will eventually start appearing as a regular enemy once you reach a certain point in the story, making it easier to find its eggs.

How to Find a Tigrex Egg

As already mentioned, finding Tigrex eggs requires you to visit its monster den, which is only possible after you have made it retreat. To do so, you will have to battle the monster, bring its HP down, destroy as many parts as possible and break its head with a Great Sword after it has used Shock Trap. While doing all this doesn’t guarantee that the monster will retreat, it should increase your chances significantly. Once the monster has retreated, follow it to its den to get one of its eggs.
