How to Fix ‘A Player That Your Platform Denies’ Error in MW2

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 isn't without its problems. Here's how to fix a player that your platform denies' error in MW2.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has amassed over $1 Billion ever since it launched and is currently Activision’s biggest-selling game in the franchise after making $800 million in the first 3 days of its release. Despite the game’s financial success and significant rise in the number of active players, there are still bugs that need fixing.

And with the release of Warzone 2.0, players are starting to team up and face the frantic gunplay of the two respective games. However, an annoying error has been popping up consistently whenever other players are invited to the game. The error says A player that your platform denies permission to play with you has joined the game. Would you like to exit the lobby?’ So in this article, we’ll be going over how to fix ‘A player that your platform denies’ error in MW2.

How to Fix ‘A Player That Your Platform Denies’ Error in MW2

While there might be other ways of fixing this error, one of the quickest ways is simply to have another player host the game and it’s very likely the error won’t pop up again. Both Infinity Ward and Activision are actively working towards making the games better and hopefully, they’ll fix these crossplay issues very soon.

But for now, an easy fix is for the whole squad to exit the party and return to the main menu and have a new player host.

If the above method fails, you can try restarting the application by closing the game and reopening it again. While that may fix the issue, there are little chances of that happening but it’s worth a shot.

Disabling Crossplay in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Another easy fix (which isn’t really a fix) is to disable crossplay entirely. Yes, we know this doesn’t solve your actual problem but you can do it while the developers fix the issue from their end.

You can disable crossplay from either Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 or Warzone 2.0 by going to Settings > Account > Network > Crossplay settings and disabling it. This option is only available for PlayStation 4 and 5 players, and so far appears to be where the error originated.
