With the Dead By Daylight Roots of Dredge update that was released worldwide on June 7, 2022, players on the PlayStation and other platforms began experiencing the Initialization Error and some other issues that stopped them from entering the game.

Seeing that, we prepared a handy guide that talks about how you can fix the Dead by Daylight Initialization Error while explaining the possible causes of the error.

How to Fix Dead By Daylight Initialization Error

There are multiple reasons for the Initialization Error that players encounter in Dead by Daylight. Most of the time, it’s caused by server-related issues that we have no control over. While some times, the reason is corrupted game files, Steam Cloud Synchronization, Persistent Storage issues for Xbox users, or console firmware issues.

Before working on any fix, you should always check if Dead by Daylight game servers are active or not. Or if the game is facing an issue known by the developers. You can check all these on the game’s official Twitter handle.

For example, the Initialization Error, along with a few other errors that players began experiencing after the arrival of the latest update, was caused from the developers’ end.

We recommend players to check the Dead by Daylight official Twitter handle for server or known issues related status.
