How to Fix FPS Issue in Dying Light 2

The current generation games are visually appealing, and they easily mesmerize the gaming community with their level of detail. However, the quality most of the time results in technical difficulties like FPS issues and stutters that most of the new games are facing. And Techland’s Dying Light 2 is no exception to that.

In this Dying Light 2 guide, we talk about some of the best ways to fix constant stutters and FPS issues in the game.

How to Fix FPS Issue in Dying Light 2

Here are a few working ways to fix the FPS issue in Dying Light 2:

Restart Dying Light 2

While playing Dying Light on PC, there were many instances where the game FPS dips a lot and sometimes gets locked at 18~19 FPS. We have encountered this FPS issue many times during our playthrough.

Thankfully, we did find a workaround. Restarting Dying Light 2 restores the game FPS to normal. So, if you think, suddenly you are getting very low FPS while playing the game, it’s time for a restart.

Update Graphics Driver

When we first started Dying Light 2 on PC. Even with 80 ~ 90 FPS, the game was stuttering a lot, and turning on Ray Tracing made the FPS drop to 50 ~ 55.

We checked in Geforce Experience and found we were using the old version update for the GPU.

When we updated the GPU driver, the constant stutter was gone. Even with Ray Tracing enabled, DLSS Quality turned On, and all other settings at max, we were getting around 78~94 FPS.

So, we highly recommend players update their GPU driver to the latest version.

Close Unwanted Applications

Before starting Dying Light 2, close all Ram and Processor heavy applications such as Google Chrome and others to get around a 3~7 FPS boost.

In consoles, you get a smoother experience by using the Performance mode.

Dying Light 2 is an action-horror game available on Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and PC platform, with a Nintendo Switch release planned for later this year.
