Call of Duty’s most fun aspect is the explosive Killstreak rewards that you get to pummel your opponents to the ground further. S.A.E. Killstreak is among those, and unfortunately, it has a bug that dates back to the first Modern Warfare reboot. We’ll tackle this annoying bug and some possible workarounds while playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
S.A.E. more bugs in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
The S.A.E. Killstreak is unusable in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. You must wait 30 seconds for the tablet to close, or an enemy kills your vulnerable body. Considering that you have to get seven kills to activate this killstreak, the game rewards you with a “nope” or die scenario.

There have been reports of the S.A.E. Killstreak bug since the Modern Warfare reboot, and until the sequel hit the shelves, it is still present in the game. There are multiple workarounds for this bug. Unfortunately, they are all tedious and may disrupt the game’s overall flow.
- Once you engage the S.A.E. Killstreak and if it freezes the game, do these steps:
- Open the scoreboard
- Open and exit out of the map.
- In this particular order, these actions will exit the tablet view and “fix” the bug.
- Restart the game when the bug occurs. This method is annoying since you have to relaunch the game, throwing you off your momentum. Not only that, but this process doesn’t guarantee that it will fix the bug and make S.A.E. usable.
- Another user suggested pushing x to pick three spots and then push R2 (may vary depending on your platform). There haven’t been any reports of this method working aside from the user who suggested it, but it won’t hurt to try.
Those are all of the possible workarounds with the S.A.E. bugs. Unfortunately, until Infinity Ward acknowledges and fixes these bugs, we have no concrete way of using the S.A.E. Killstreak in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
