How to Fix Super Mario Run Crash on iPhone

The highly anticipated Super Mario Run was released on the iOS App Store. And it was released in 150 countries, which is pretty nice. While the iOS Store servers are coping with the multi-million user load on the server, some players have started complaining that Super Mario Run keeps crashing when launched on their iPhone or iPad. Fortunately, there are a whole bunch of methods that will help you get this game running.

Free Some RAM

Older iPhones and iPads quite often run into memory issues while running Super Mario Run, which in turn leads to an unplanned crash. To prevent crashes, you will have to free up some RAM on your iPhone or iPad. To do this, do the following:

  • Press and hold the Lock Button or Power Button on your iOS device until the power off slider appears on the screen.
  • At the same time, remove your finger from the held button and hold down the “Home” button until the disconnect prompt disappears from the screen. You should then be redirected to the Home screen.
  • Try running the game again. If the Super Mario Run crash issue is still present, then proceed to the next method.

Force Quit and Restart the Game

Try to forcibly close the game process and restart it:

  1. Quickly double-tap the Home button to view recently opened apps.
  2. Browse the list for Super Mario Run and close it with a swipe.

Forced Reboot

If the two previous methods failed to help you, then you can try to force restart your device. To do this, do the following:

  • Hold down the Lock and Home buttons at the same time for 15 seconds.
  • iPhone 7 owners should hold down the Power and Volume buttons.
  • Wait for your device to reboot and then try running Super Mario Run again.

Reinstall Super Mario Run

The last method to solve the problem is to reinstall the game. If this does not help, then the problem most likely lies in the extremely loaded Nintendo servers. In this case, it remains only to wait.
