How to Get a Purple Pikmin

Purple Pikmin will unlock for you once you reach level 13, so you’ll need to get your steps in and complete objectives to level up. To go from level 12 to level 13, you’ll need to:

  • Grow 3 Pikmin Seedlings
  • Walk a total of 44,000 steps

Once you accomplish these objectives, you’ll level up to level 13 and unlock the ability to find and grow Purple Seedlings. You can find Purple Seedlings from leveling up and Expeditions. Purple Pikmin will grow from Purple Seedlings, and they require 3,000 steps to grow.

Purple Pikmins’ specialty lies in their immense strength, so they perform very well during Expeditions. The main colored Pikmin—Red, Blue, and Yellow—have a carrying capacity of one. Rock Pikmin have a carrying capacity of three, while Purple Pikmin have a carrying capacity of five! Save your Purple guys for the big Expeditions.
